Clean rooms and bathrooms, clean kitchen too. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted, and included a rice cooker, an air fryer, a microwave, a baking oven, four hot plates, two kettles, many fridges and pantries, and a lot of utensils. There is also a disability friendly bathroom, however the hostel itself is only accessible via stairs, so if you use a wheel chair you can't realistically stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lounge with a large flat screen tv with netflix, and three comfy couches. Bath towels are available at reception for a $10 deposit which you'll receive back upon return of the towel. There is a coin laundry machine and a coin dryer which both take $3 to use. The bedrooms are cleaned daily, and are kept at a comfortable temperature, never too cold or too hot. There is a lim chour supermarket across the road, and a busy metropolitan street just past that with lots of restaurants and shops. Secure parking complexes are down the road. They also added bedside containers that hang off the side of the beds for you to put things in, like phones etc.

The staff was helpful. They let us change to lower bunks - they even let one of us change to a different room to be able to have a lower bunk. There are rules to be followed but I think it makes it more liveable for everyone, especially when staying there for longer than just a few days (or if you just value sleep). People were nice and I liked that there's a combined lounge, dining and kitchen - makes the place quite social.

Everything was really clean and well taken care of. It was not messy or anything, most of the time, and the cleaner came in many times a day. This was great! Small hostel, so it is easy to meet new people, feel safe and it makes it probably easy not to get messy. It was also not too too hot in the rooms most of the times and the personnel asked us whether they needed to increase the AC for us, which was great!

Iris

The hostel was well kept. Good clean kitchen, comfortable living space, the air con throughout meant it wasn't stuffy at all even in the 8 person dorms. No alcohol allowed anywhere on site meant this is certainly not a party hostel, which suited me well as I just wanted somewhere quiet for a few days. A little bit out of the main bit of Auckland CBD, but not miles away.

Robin

Great hostel with lots of awesome people travelling from overseas, the vibe here was so nice and friendly! The hostel itself is clean, centrally located and very secure. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Auckland/NZ especially solo travellers or groups.
